When Ludwig Benning founded his engineering company on May 15, 1949 in Barnstorf, he could not have imagined that 71 years later the name Lübing (derived from the mechanical engineer’s first and last name) would enjoy worldwide fame among livestock farmers and cattle breeders and would be synonymous with highly specialized drinking, transport and climate systems. Lübing is a market leader and always strives to meet high expectations with its qualified employees, consistently high quality and trend-setting innovations. Nine subsidiaries and 34 representative offices abroad covering 87 countries speak for themselves, as does the fact that the former three-man business now employs more than 200 people in Germany alone. Lübing produced its first nipple drinkers for laying hens and pigs in 1967. In the following years, the production of drinking systems for poultry and pigs was expanded and automated. The range with its plastic casing was further developed and patented. In 1971, the first representative agency abroad was licensed in France and finally, on September 1, the company Loping was founded with a Franco-German shareholding. Loping companies were also established in England and Spain in 1976. In addition, the production of cross-conveyor systems for egg transport was started, thus becoming the company’s second largest production area. New product developments such as the sharp conveyor and the “Optima” pressure regulator were added to the company’s range. In 2009, 60 years after the company was founded, the 400 millionth whisker was produced. Apart from the big anniversary celebrations, the second Loping dealer meeting was also held during this year. On this occasion, Loping dealers from all over the world gathered in Barnstorf to receive information about product improvements and to exchange experiences. In 2010, the company’s headquarters in the head office in Barnstorf was expanded again by adding a hall to match the warehouse and production capacity with current customer requirements. The 650 square meter research center with 10 offices and 2 meeting rooms was completed in early 2013. In 2014, new construction started again (Hall 6 with dimensions of 90 x 30 m). In spring 2015, this new building was completed.
